The report states that as of 1 June 2025, total tax arrears in Tajikistan amounted to 975.8 million somoni (approximately US$102 million), according to the Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan. This marks an increase of 235.6 million somoni in tax arrears compared with the beginning of the year. The report states that the Tax Committee highlighted several major debtors: OJSC “Distribution Electric Networks” with 144.6 million somoni; OJSC NBO Roghun with 58.6 million somoni; enterprises under the Agency for Melioration and Irrigation with 48.2 million somoni; CJSC Talco Gold with 30.2 million somoni; SUE Sanitary Transport Service of Khujand with 30 million somoni; enterprises under SUE Housing and Communal Services with 28.9 million somoni; Angishti Ziddi Mine with 19.3 million somoni; and OJSC Angisht with 10.2 million somoni. The report states that these entities collectively account for 38% of the total tax arrears. In the first half of 2025, the Tax Committee identified 9,100 instances of violations of tax legislation, resulting in administrative fines totalling 670.5 million somoni. The committee also reported that over the first half of 2025, Tajikistan’s state budget received 12.7 billion somoni in internal taxes and other mandatory payments, which is 13.7% more than the planned amount.
