EADaily news report (Russian, 20 September 2024) reports that Russia and Tajikistan signed a new cooperation agreement in anti-corruption, citing Sputnik Tajikistan as its source. The document was signed by Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov and Sulaymon Sultonzoda, director of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of Tajikistan. The article reports the agreement covers asset recovery to compensate for damage from corruption offences, collection of fines and other property-based penalties, exchange of anti-corruption experience, training of specialists, mutual legal consultations, and coordination on international platforms. Krasnov is quoted proposing a joint activities programme for the following year. The article also reports that chairmanship of the Inter-State Council for Combating Corruption has passed to Tajikistan.
