Tajik-language press release by the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Tajikistan (mort.tj), dated 23 May 2024. The press release reports that on 22 May 2024 the spring conscription plan for the Armed Forces of Tajikistan was fulfilled 100% across all regions, cities and districts of the country ahead of schedule. The release reports the sequence of 100% fulfilment during 1 April – 22 May 2024: first the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (ВМКБ), then the four districts of Душанбе (Dushanbe), then Хатлон (Khatlon) region, then the cities and districts of republican subordination, and finally Суғд (Sughd) region. The release reports that draft commissions will continue operating through the end of May to process citizens’ applications. It attributes the outcome to a high number of voluntary enlistments — including men with higher education — and cooperation between local executive authorities and the population. The release names specific districts that reportedly completed their quotas on the very first day: all districts of ВМКБ; Рашт (Rasht), Сангвор (Sangvor), Лахш (Lakhsh), Нуробод (Nurobod) and Тоҷикобод (Tojikobod) among the districts of republican subordination; and Вахш (Vakhsh), Фархор (Farkhor), Хуросон (Khuroson), Муъминобод (Muminobod) and Носири Хусрав (Nosiri Khusrav) in Khatlon. The release reports that the spring draft was carried out under the Law “On Military Duty and Military Service” and Presidential Decree №791 of 5 March 2024, signed by Эмомалӣ Раҳмон (Emomali Rakhmon), covering men born 1997–2006.
